The Tale...

Michael Martins, a Portuguese multi-generational Fado vocalist, overcame his diagnosis of being clinically deaf by starting his vocal training with Canadian Touring Opera singer Brenda Burger before joining the Canadian Academy of Vocal Music at the age of 15.

His determination and passion for music, has led him to opportunities ranging from regularly performing at his local congregation, the 2004 Ontario Lung Association holiday event, to preparing for, and placing in the top 50 contestant’s on the nationally broadcast 2006 cycle of Canadian Idol leading him to media features with OMNI News, and several Toronto print publications like The Portuguese Sun and Voice Newspaper. Michael Martins proudest accomplishment to date was his International Portuguese Music Award (IPMA) nomination in the category of best new song in Jazz/Classic/Contemporary for Caught in Your Asylum.

Currently, Michael Martins has just released his debut album ‘The Memories of a MADMAN’ available on iTunes and Google Play, which includes the hit singles ‘Caught in Your Asylum’, and 'BOMBSHELL' (videos can be seen on YouTube by click). Michael is currently working on filming his next to music videos which would include his anti-bullying single/campaign 'BRAVEHEART' (click to hear), and he is currently developing his stage tour for MADMAN...
